 ALABANDITE with RHODOCHROSITE |

| This is a wonderful cluster of lustrous black alabandite crystals on light pink rhodochrosite from the Uchucchacua Mine, Uchucchacua area, Oyón District, Oyón Province, Lima, Peru (see mindat.org page). The largest crystal exhibits pronounced spinel-law twinning. Alabandite from Peru is considered the finest in the world because it yields some of the largest, sharpest, and most lustrous crystals of this rare manganese sulfide species. This specimen comes with multiple labels showing its provenance.

| For sale is an absolutely wonderful contrasting specimen of rose-colored rhodochrosite on LUSTROUS jet-black limonite matrix. The rhodochrosite consists of small, intergrown rhombohedra which grew into a botryoidal carpet over the limonite. A specimen label is included.
