 | For sale is an exceptional high-grade ore specimen containing abundant visible electrum (gold and siilver alloy) and likely dark silver-gray naumannite (silver selenide) from the Golden Promise #2 Vein, Knob Hill Mine in Republic, Ferry County, Washington, USA. The electrum is visible all throughout the cut side of the specimen (first two photographs) surrounded by dark and light (quartz) banding. The concentration of electrum helps define the banded texture of this specimen. This fine specimen is from the Ralph Noyes Collection. Ralph Noyes was the Vice President of Metal Mining for Hecla Mining Company. One side has been saw cut and the other sides are rough. The specimen is about 2.4-cm thick; it is possible that it could be cut to produce two slabs with visible electrum. A specimen label is included. The electrum is visible within a black band along the bottom edge of the specimen (see photographs). This fine specimen is from the Ralph Noyes Collection. Ralph Noyes was the Vice President of Metal Mining for Hecla Mining Company. The specimen is just over 1-cm thick and shows the wonderful patternining on both sides of the slab. The electrum is visible within a black band along the edge of the specimen (see photographs). This fine specimen is from the Ralph Noyes Collection.  | For sale is a high-grade ore slab containing abundant visible electrum (gold and siilver alloy) and dark silver-gray naumannite (silver selenide) from the Knob Hill Mine (Golden Promise Mine) in Republic, Ferry County, Washington, USA. The electrum is visible on both sides of the slab associated with the naumannite (see photographs). This specimen was collected by Jim Browne who worked as a mine geologist at the Pend Oreille Mine in northwest Washington (circa 1960). This is the richest slab from this locality I currently have in my collection. Fractures in the slab have been gap-filled with professional grade glue for stability Both sides of the slab have a rough polish. A specimen label is included.
