
| For sale is a specimen of almost pure bornite from the Sunset Mine, near Index, Snohomish County, Washington. This ore specimen was self-collected about 8 years ago and was recently polished along one side to show the wonderfu deep indigo color of the bornite. A specimen label is included. The Sunset Mine was in production from 1902 to 1905, 1907 and 1916 to 1930 with the years of most prolific production between 1926 and 1929. The total production was 193,112 tons (1,500 oz gold, 156,000 oz silver and 12,912,000 lb copper from 263,500 tons of ore) (Huntting, 1956).
