Autunite for Sale...

AUTUNITE
autunite for sale
This is a classic cluster of autunite/meta-autinite crystals with books of green tabular crystals. This specimen has been treated for preservation with a very diluted water-based glue so that it won't degrade. There aren't too many autunite specimens of this size that are preserved from this locality that show the classic crystal habit. I was lucky to acquire this specimen in good condition before the preservation process. Visit my Daybreak Mine page at Washington Minerals for more information about this mineral occurence.

For sale is a rare specimen of autunite and meta-autunite from an obscure northwest locality, the Triple H&J Mine, in Blueside, Pend Oreille County, Washington, USA. This specimen is from the ex-Jim Browne collection. The specimen was acquired by Mr. Brown in the early 1960's and was likely mined in the late 1950's to early 1960's. Dark green autunite cores are visible along the edges of the cluster. The rims of the crystals have converted to meta-autunite. The specimen fluoresces bright green under ultraviolet light. The specimen is mounted on a polished acrylic base with removable mineral tack. A specimen label is included.

Radiation was measured with a Hays Model HGC-1 at a distance of 1-inch from specimen at 3 mR/hr. CONTACT me if you are interested in purchasing this specimen.
