CALCITE
and
QUARTZ
pseudomorph after
ARAGONITE Cadman Quarry, near Monroe, Snohomish County, Washington, USA
Specimen is ~2 inches longest dimension. This is a cut section perpindicular to the c-axis of three intergrown pseudomorphed crystals. The cut face exhibits the hexagonal cross-section of the crystals. The pseudomorph is polymineralic
(the darker translucent rim is likely calcite and the core is likely quartz and calcite, but this has not been confirmed).
